Yale Camp at Great Mountain Forest
The Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies offers an immersive program for students to study land use and spatial analysis within the rustic environment of a backwoods camp in Northwestern, Connecticut. When the program needed to relocate six sleeping cabins, NDC was selected as the general contractor.
The scope of work began with developing the site plan and proposed laydown areas. Each cabin was rigged and removed from its foundation. The electrical trenches were dug out and new conduits installed. New foundations were poured, and each cabin was set back in place on sound footings. The project required out-of-the-box thinking and careful coordination to successfully move and reset each cabin.
