Project Details
NDC completed a multi-phase interior renovation at Colt Armory, a designated National Historic Landmark, transforming a former magnet school within the building into thoughtfully designed residential and professional spaces. The project included the selective demolition of existing classrooms to create a total of forty-four (44) new studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments across multiple floors.
In addition to residential units, the scope incorporated shared amenities and workspaces tailored to today's professional needs, including a collaboration room, meeting rooms, and private offices for virtual calls—each equipped with modern technology to support productivity.
Throughout construction, NDC successfully navigated the complexities of working within a historic structure, carefully maintaining landmark regulations while adapting to existing building conditions and addressing unforeseen challenges. Early planning, coordination, and a solutions-driven approach ensured the successful delivery of this adaptive reuse project while preserving the integrity of the historic site.
